Editorial

Welcome to the summertime issue of Geomantica, of December 2005.

It has been Australia's hottest year on record, but thankfully here in south eastern Australia, at least, the rains have been pretty good this winter/spring. But years of below average rains still sees our reservoirs down, many to only 20% full, even around here. That's 80% empty! And Sydney just hasnt been getting it in the Warragamba dam catchment area. Everyone needs to get serious about water conservation. And water needs more respect! Water is a strong theme of this issue of Geomantica (and the sacred nature of water is the subject of one of the next films that I am working on currently).

I give thanks to all contributors to this issue: Billy Arnold, Laurie Adamson, Sergei Skryabin, Rob Gourlay, Tim Strachan and Wynelle Delaney.

Until next quarter -

Happy dowsing!

And peace and bright blessings

* Letter from Wynelle Delaney:

For dowsers interested in exploring and researching

subtle energies and health enhancement.

Two articles which were recently sent to me by a client which could have important implications for health dowsers of the human energy field. The articles contain interesting information for those of us who are into researching ways of clearing and balancing subtle energies of people dealing with health issues such as heart problems, kidney disorders, circulatory difficulties, calcification problems in general, as well as ordinary dental plaque issues. Both articles refer to the presence of the nanobacter pathogen, called nanobacter sanguineum, as a hidden causal agent for many common physical problems.

One article comes from a newsletter published by The Preventive Medicine Center of Gainesville, Inc. It is titled: Nanobacter and Heart Disease by Robert A. Erickson, M. D. It can be found in the website
http://www.prevent-doc.com/articles/nano.html and www.nanobaclabs.com

The second article comes from a Plaqsol Product Information sheet from the Vitality and Longevity Medical Center in Santa Monica, California. This article goes into detail explaining how arteriosclerosis happens. Its title is: Arteriosclerosis and Treatments. It can be found in the website
http://gawain.membrane.com/family_medicine/arteriosclerosis.html

The information in the articles could be helpful to dowsers skilled in their own styles and techniques of research in balancing subtle energies in the human energy field.

The prefix 'nano' refers to micropathogens which cannot be easily located in traditional chemical laboratory health diagnostic techniques. Therefore, their presence and pathogenic natures are usually missed in lab studies using regular diagnostic equipment. Nanomicropathogens are so small they can only be seen through electron microscopes. Their pathogenic effects are stealthily insidious and go unnoticed until well into disorders and dysfunctions of the human body that have become observable and fully present.

Nanomicropathogens are highly resistant to any form of traditional medical pharmaceutical treatment, antibiotics, heat treatment or even gamma radiation treatment. My hunch is that these types of pathogens are most likely what is behind a lot of hospital-acquired infections which do not respond to treatments as well as being hidden causal factors behind many ordinary daily life health problems. They seem to be able to permeate the entire body cellular structures of body tissues, organs, systems, etc. They put out an oily/sticky coating which encapsulates body cell walls. Their main impact is calcification production around the outside of the cell walls. Their second major impact is causing inflammation around the cells and body tissues.

My dowsing indicates that it is probably not just bacteria that are "nano'ed" but that this most likely applies to sizes of many different other micropathogens as well---such as viruses, viteria, vibrios, microbes, parasites, fungi, molds, yeasts, mildews, etc.

I would encourage any of you interested in this information to explore creating your own clearing/balancing/ harmonizing programs for such conditions as: Nanomicropathogens eliminating-clearing, Circulatory System and Cholesterol calcifying processes, as well as something for clearing and balancing energies within homes, houses and work spaces, etc.

It is a pretty exciting and important challenge.

If you want to find out more about nanobacter sanguineum pathogens, go to Google and do a website search. There is a lot more information material out there. The major official research has only been on nanobacters.

Best Regards

Aboriginal Heritage Protection to be Strengthened in Victoria

Proposed new planning laws in Victoria wiill see Aboriginal culture heritage better protected, in the first change to cultural heritage laws since 1987. All residential and commercial developments will be subject to assessment for heritage values and planning permits will not be issued until it is known that heritage sites will not be damaged. Fines for destruction of sites will be increased from $10,000 to $150,000, and up to $1 million for corporations (up from $50,000). Local councils will organise the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessments.

Under this legislation, 'Aboriginal cultural property' is defined broadly to include any Aboriginal place, object or folklore (including traditions or oral history) that is of particular significance in accordance with tradition.

The bill is in line with the Victorian Government's project to develop an Aboriginal Land and Resource Development Strategy, and provide greater authority for indigenous people in cultural heritage management. The Bill reflects many of the new concepts introduced in Queensland in 2003.

The significant changes contained in the draft Bill are an important development for Aboriginal communities in Victoria. Following the 2002 High Court decision in the Yorta Yorta case, decreased recognition under federal native title law has frustrated relationships between Aboriginal communities, the Government and industry in relation to land use and management

A draft came out in October and after appropriate consultation in the coming months, it is expected that the Bill will be introduced into Parliament in autumn 2006. Comment on the draft Bill may be submitted to Aboriginal Affairs Victoria by 19 December 2005.

An Alternative Look at the Water Crisis

by Alanna Moore, Tim Strachan and Rob Gourlay.

October 2005. I had just read John Archer's new book 'Twenty Thirst Century' about the water crisis in Australia and particularly in Sydney, where the NSW government is even considering an energy guzzling de-salination plant. (See the book review later this issue.)

"Bottled energy", ex-premier Bob Carr had once called water produced this way. And it even could provide possible justification to have a nuclear power plant to power it!

What might be better prospects for Australia (and Sydney in particular) in regards to sustainable water supply? I wondered.

While John Archer had covered all the usual perspectives on the situation admirably in his book, I felt that some other views, such as from water diviners, might shed a more hopeful light on the situation. I can now see some light at the end of the tunnel!

I asked Tim Strachan, a dowser and natural therapist who runs The Energy Store in Sydney, for his ideas.

TS: "Regarding Sydney being drought affected - I believe that energetically there is too much imbalance now between earth and sky.

The imbalances (which are growing fast) are a result of lots of pollution (particulate matter, affecting precipitation etc), and particularly artificial emf blanketing the city more and more. I just see it all as artificial obstacles/barriers/dor, andReich's view of dor/oranor is a fairly clear way of seeing or modeling it. Our country continues to be massively mismanaged.

But I believe also you'd probably need hundreds of 'rainmaker' devices, along with devices like my orgonite cones, but not just a dozen or so (and I doubt there's that many - three that I've made are in or around Sydney). These devices are really energy balancers, and they clear noxious frequencies.

As for the water side - there are two fairly separate aquifer systems - the superficial (probably being depleted) and the deep (lots still there). Rob Gourlay can tell you more about that.

I've had my own experience up round Bucketty of what seemed like finding places where water used to be (and the dowsing found it) but where there no longer was water (at a deep level like 250m)."

So I then asked scientist Rob Gourlay what he knew.

Rob Gourlay: I use geophysical data to target good fractured rock zones and this has paid-off for me over the past 6 years and over 300 bores, with only one reported with a water quality problem.
Sydney has a massive buried (about 100m down) stream network/system that flows from the west to the ocean.

I met a guy in Sydney about 10 years ago that had mapped this system. I have mapped other buried stream systems in central NSW (ie. the buried Lachlan River (that once flowed south to North) and this system yields between 4,500-11,000 gals per hour.

Alanna Moore: "I have read in the Archer book that water brought up from very deep is more likely to be contaminated with 'aluminium, arsenic, fluoride and radon due to higher temperatures there.....'

Have you found this to be true?

RB: I have not found evidence of aluminium, arsenic, fluoride and radon
in deep fractured rock water. This is the sort of contamination with
perched water systems or old buried anaerobic systems (eg. buried swamps
that can be high in iron).

Generally, I find that public scientists and conservationists have very little knowledge about deep groundwater systems and how water is formed in the Earth, energised in rivers and conditioned for human use; or even the notion that water has a life
force energy.

The deep primary water is normally very good quality and this why I target
deep fractured rock water. The evidence of the quality and persistent
quantity of this water is in 'Divining' (1979) by Christopher Bird (Chapters
8-9) and 'New Water for a Thirsty World' (1960) by Michael H. Salzman
(Borderland Sciences Research Foundation book, USA).

A problem that I have encountered (once) with fractured rock is high iron,
however this was not that deep at 90m. A good diviner will also divine
(test) for water quality.

AM: So Sydney just needs to get smart and there's really no reason to resort to inefficient de-salination technology?

RB: Fundamentally, if every home had a 90,000 gal tank with grey water recycling
than we would not need a public reticulated system for family homes. I
believe that most factories and other large water users should tap into the
deep fractured rock groundwater system to supplement other water sources.
All the more reason to relocate large water users out of cities (where
shallow groundwater can be contaminated) into major groundwater zones in
regional areas.

Also, we have 8,000 cubic kilometres of water in the atmosphere that can
produce about 170 litres per household per day with the right (solar
powered) extraction equipment (now available on the market).

However, the water utility companies will want us to use the current
reticulated infrastructure to provide the capital for future maintenance
costs and new infrastructure ventures like desalinisation. Also, these
corporations fund and manipulate the public science system. Consequently, we
will hear very little about the value of atmospheric water or groundwater
that are massively greater in supply than surface water supplies.

Remember that we can not destroy water and it is continuously being created deep
within the Earth, as it has been for aeons (not just my theory, read Bird,
Riess, Salzman, etc.)

There is a capability statement at my ERIC website (www.eric.com) on groundwater
exploration, as well as other relevant papers at the page below."

News about Power Towers

The Weekly Times is Victoria's rural weekly and it tends to follow the mainstream. Lately, however, it seems to be recognising that alternatives are becoming the new mainstream...

Surprise surprise - a photo of a Power Tower turns up in it's pages! A good story, but not a good Tower.

Graeme Evans runs beef cattle near Bairrnsdale, Gippsland, Victoria. He turned organic and is happily working towards full organic accreditation. Mineral supplements for soil and stock have proved very effective. Pastures are being treated with lime, paramagnetic rock and coal dust, in a rotational grazing system. Improvements in stock since starting the new regime have been "phenomenal", he says. "It's amazing to see the quality of the cover crops from using the natural products."

Graeme has a science background, and has also tried biodynamic peppers for pests and microbial soil enhancement products. And then there's his Tower.

"The property has a Tower of Power - a steel post-like structure that he says acts like an antenna to harvest energies and magnetic properties from the environment and transfer them into the ground. Graeme said that any changes from the Tower were difficult to measure" writes reporter Fiona Allan

Well - it's a pity he made his Tower from steel. A properly made paramagnetic - rather than ferromagnetic- structure would do better Im sure. Then it would be better able to fulfil the function of being a 'silicon-rich semi-conductor of energy', as Prof Callahan described the Irish Round Towers and their modern equivalents. (Read my book 'Stone Age Farming' to know more!)

Coogee Beach

Sacred Landscape Temple

A Brief Report of Observations of 'Our Lady of the Fence Posts' site over two years, by Alanna Moore and Billy Arnold.

Miracles are a bit thin on the ground these days. However recent investigations at Coogee, Sydney's own 'miracle' centre, have revealed an amazing development of the spiritual qualities of landscape there, in the three years since sightings of 'Our Lady' began.

'Our Lady of Coogee'
From the media stories of late January 2003, many people (in Sydney at least) have heard about the 'sightings' of 'Mother Mary', first reported in December 2002, on the northern headland of Coogee Beach.

Along a whitewashed fence line at a certain time in the afternoon on sunny days - a white, veiled figure would appear. The play of fence angles and shadows is said to have produced the image, which had never been noticed before.

People began flocking to the site to witness the 'apparition' and to pray there. Other types of visions also occurred, spirit voices were heard, and spiritual epiphanies and healing miracles ensued for some of the pilgrims. It continues to this day.

In February 2005 newspapers reported that some people were demanding a shrine be built at the fence post site, which now boasted statues, flowerpots, holy water bowls, Mary pictures and laminated press clippings all over it.

While believing it's all just an optical illusion, Coogee parish priest Fr Desmond Holm has seen it's therapeutic value.

"People have said that it is a special place, that being there gives them a general sense of peace and that is something good....If good comes out of it, then that's good," he says. 1.

But is it just a simple case of mass delusion? Looking at the site with my own geomantic perspective (with fresh eyes on an old childhood haunt) has revealed that what we have here is a special 'landscape temple' complex, a network of power centres, both on land and out to sea. Truly a modern sacred site.

Chain of Events
To really appreciate the site and the 'miracles' you need to look at the site's history and be able to dowse or sense the energies there.

Just weeks before the apparitions began, on 12th October 2002, Kuta Beach in Bali saw the horrific bombing with hundreds killed, including 22 from the Coogee area.

At some point in the following months it was proposed to create a memorial to the dead on the northern headland of the beach.

Saturday, April 12th 2003, saw the dedication of Coogee's memorial to Australians killed in the blast, at a ceremony where thousands of mourners vented their grief. In the form of an elegant metal sculpture, it became a sacred memorial to the dead, where annual rememberance ceremonies are held.

So it was not surprising that healing energies have been roused up there. At least three academic papers have been written which delve into the phenomena. In two the link is made between the outpouring of grief over the bombing and growing national insecurities, the looming war in Iraq, etc.

Dr Carole Cusack, senior lecturer in religious studies at the University of Sydney, has pointed out in the press that

"Pilgrims to Coogee are joining in an age-old religious practice, older than Christianity, that functions to alleviate stress experienced by the community." 2.

Looking for energies
It was on Monday, October 27th 2003, that I was first told about 'Our Lady of the Fenceposts'. Being a geomancer meant that I would expect to find some interesting energies there, so I immediately went over for a brief investigation with my pendulum.

It was a windy day for dowsing and I gained no sense of special energies there. But I did see the white figure at the fence, and it did make old sceptic me gasp! and I was able to film it. More became apparent when I returned on Monday, March 15th 2004.

I saw a man there, who was praying intently with his rosary. He told me how, on Saturday Feb 1st 2003, he had seen a small Mary figure, like a doll, with outstretched hands, appear to him. Nuns were around him praying at the time, and Mary even spoke to him. (Several other people report seeing Mary in different spots around the fence post site, such as in cliff caves below the fence.)

Bit if there had been special energies there, they were still not apparent to me on my short visits so far.

But as I was leaving I had the vision, looking out to the Bay beyond the fence shrine, of a portal, shimmering in the air there. "Ah!" I thought, "that must be where Mary makes her entrance." (Portals being inter-dimensional doorways.) "That's why she doesn't manifest up at the memorial, she visits via the nearest suitable energy vortex point."

Devic Discoveries
When I next visited, I was with Billy Arnold, who can see the spirits of nature, the devas when he tunes in to them. It was Saturday the 16th October 2004 just four days after the second anniversary of the Kuta bombing, and many wreaths lay fading in the sunlight, beneath the plaque on the remains of the old Bath House entrance, not far from the fencepost shrine.

This time we both looked for devic activity and were most happy to discover a huge green and blue deva that dominated the headland. The giant energy field of devic consciousness was peacefully stationed there, full of compassion and healing qualities, and hosting a range of other spirits in it's wings an old Earth spirit and several ancestral Aboriginal spirits. There were also two big sea spirits, as well as resident Banksia and other tree spirits in the vicinity that Billy was able to see.

"This spherical blue-green devic being is at peace working for the benefit of living humans and the dead" Billy reported.

"The being likes to be looked at and responds by directing energy to us and to other people nearby. It is difficult to perceive the whole spirit when in a meditative state at the fence post because you are actually standing in it"

Coogee Beach Nature Temple
Our next visit together was a year later, on Friday 22 October 2005, and were blown away, even more so, by the increased energy of the site. Again, it was not long after an annual commemoration ceremony had occurred and floral wreaths in the Bath House marked the occasion.

The whole place had a vibrancy we had never felt before. Plants and trees were flourishing, glistening even, and a couple of small flocks of cockatoos and ravens hopped around happily, the ravens hanging around the fencepost shrine like shiny black guardians caaaawing.

Billy saw the same huge spherical being, and it was much larger than the year before.

"It's covering all of Coogee Bay and the northern headland. It's very, very impressive and definitely evolving into a much more sophisticated and multi-dimensional being, because of the natural development in the groups of human spirits and nature spirits involved, I imagine" he said.

We visited again on the Monday afterwards, on 25 October. It was a damp, misty day, with sparse visitors. Moist, mysterious and peaceful. Sitting in the car facing the site I undertook an intense dowsing session, a question and answer interview with the great deva there, trying to discover some more about this amazing place.

From this dowsing, assuming my questions were not too flawed, I learnt that the big (female) deva is basically a sea spirit, a bit like a mermaid, whose 'tail' connects down via the fence shrine and into the waters of Coogee Bay.

I distantly dowsed that the deva's 'tail' connects into an Earth energy centre out to sea. Billy's later discovery, on geological maps, was consequently not surprising at all. Coogee Bay was the scene of some volcanic activity long ago, he found out.

I asked the deva, on a hunch, if she had once been stationed at Wedding Cake Island, not far off shore. Yes, indeed she had. She prefers the atmosphere of the headland now and has taken on healing work under the tutelage of the Great Mother Mary, who visits occasionally, due to popular demand. (Some people consider Mary to be the greatest of all the water spirits.)

Before the Bali bombing the great deva of the Bay was always interested in the welfare of swimmers and surfers at Coogee Beach, I discovered, and now her healing abilities are really coming to the fore. (And people who have been drinking from the holy water container at the fence post have reported a host of cures, as noted in press clippings there.)

After my dowsing session, Billy took a yogic inner meditative look at the site and was amazed to perceive the spherical spirit so much more powerful than on the Friday before, with brighter colours and energy radiating in every direction.

"Not only were its blue and green colours brighter, it now had flashes of gold and white, like lightning bolts, inside it's field" he said.

"I thought the spirit must be evolving rapidly from the sentiment and emotion of people attending the site on the weekend before, perhaps."

Or maybe it had been stimulated by our interview, I wonder?

We walked on up through the old Banksia trees atop the headland and over to the Bali memorial. The powerful devic field there was quite palpable and exhilarating to experience.

Who would have expected such a thing, in a land where the white man has long been hell bent on destroying sacred sites, in the name of the god of progress?

Here, in the midst of suburbia - a blessed place. An evolving sacred site complex. A timeless Landscape Temple.

Greetings from Mars

by Sergei Skryabin, Czech Republic.

Like everybody, I must obey the fact that in the intermediate stage of
research we are more likely to make probable guesses instead of
finding the ultimate truth. And this is my case.

In the previous article in "Geomantica" issue 27 "Sphinx-The Fractal
of Earth's Development."(It's address:
http://www.geomantica.com/geom27.htm#10) I claimed
that the Halmahera Island marks the Pole Star (Polaris) pointing with
his left upper ray to the Morotai Island which marks the planet near it
where our father-parent civilization resides. But refutation doesn't
wait much time .

When I had found a photograph which was sent from Mars by the
Mars Global Surveyor (Its Internet address is:

http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/jpeg/PIA07992.jpg or

http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/?IDNumber=PIA07992 )

I had been shocked and ashamed about my claims of discovery of
the Halmahera Island's true meaning.

What the photograph taken on 26 May 2005 by the Mars Global Surveyor
shows is a system of canals which to a great extent resemble the
lines on the human palm. My own lines on the palm of the right hand
resemble this pattern so much. But this pattern from Mars has more
significant meaning because it is sprinkled with the bas-relief pieces
marking Jerusalem, two Great Pyramids of Giza, Mt. Olympus and
Mt. Kailash. (There is probability that we could add bas-relief of the
America's pyramids from the left side of the picture to the list.)

After the reason that it is a picture of the palm's lines, the round
bas-relief in the centre immediately associates to the head of the nail
which was hammered into the hand. Hence we go to the geographic
details where this event could occur: Up from the nail's head
across the canal we can see the crescent of Mt. Olympus, down
from this centre across the canal we see bas-relief of two Great Pyramids
and to the right from the centre behind the arc canal we see the bas-relief
of the sacred Mt. Kailash. Recognizing this nobody could hesitate that
our centre marks Jerusalem.

Then what about Halmahera Island ? If we put aside the right arc canal
(on my palm arc-like line goes around the thumb finger) the rest of the
canal's pattern resembles the letter "K" and the "K"-like pattern of lines
I have exactly in the centre of my right palm. I am sure that plenty of
people will find this pattern on their palms. From this point I had
understood that the Halmahera Island marks the abstraction from the Palm (marked by Australia) the same "K"-like pattern and which our planet's Great Head (Africa) examines like sometimes a Gipsy examines the palm's lines to predict the future.

Now in any case His Great Lines (Halmahera Island) point to Polaris
which is marked (after updating) by the Morotai Island.

When I had made the coincidence of my "K"-like pattern of the palm lines with the "K"-like pattern of Halmahera Island and after that I had shaped my hand in the pointing gesture the only yield was that I pointed to the "poem of ecstasy": to the Mindanao and Basilan islands of the Philippines.

Geopathic Stress
- A Simple Solution for a Complex Problem

by Laurie Adamson, Quaraiding,
via WISALTS News

Having made mention before in the Quairading 'Banksia Bulletin,' about the 'Electro Magnetic Forces' associated with the Sub-Surface Movement of Water; and the fact that I have known for 50 Years, that you don't camp Dogs or People over Sites that have this Water-logging Problem, and, with an Electro Magnetic Influence immediately above the Sub-Surface Channel or Through-Flow.

"Dogs go Mad, and People 'can' develop serious Health Problems".

Many such Sites have been investigated by Mr. Kevin Heitman of Morowa and myself using the 'Dowsing' Method to help in defining the Problem Sites under Peoples Houses. Some people are Susceptible to the 'Through-flow Magnetic Influence', but for others it may have no effect.

One good thing about the 'Magnetic Blanket and Pillow', that has a very strong 'Influence', is that it is easy to remove the Problem. The first night that we used the Blanket and Pillow, it made me so sick that I had to get up at 10p.m. I recovered after taking the Magnetic Pillow out! The Magnetic Blanket and Pillow may never be used again! but that may not be the same situation for everybody.

"In a recent conversation with Mr. Jim McGregor of Kojonup, he indicated that his sleeping habits had improved since he had obtained some advice on the subjects of Radiometrics and Magnetic Radiation; which was, to 'surround' his temporary Caravan , with a Double Copper Wire Cable". This was done some time ago, and he now claims his Sleeping and Health has improved.

"This was very interesting for me", so I tried a loop of Electric Cable (without Power) on our Local 'Throughflow' that has a strong re-action on the 'Rare Earth Magnet Divining Rod', and I found that the 'cable loop' of wire had controlled the Magnetic Influence inside the loop area! I then Exclaimed EUREKA! I thought that this could be the 'Break-through' that I had been looking for! (Similar to the 47th Proposition)

After further Testing on an outside Throughflow I decided to put a 'White Plastic Three Wire Electric Cable' around and under our Bed, 'which is partly over the Main Center Section of an Active Throughflow', and also in the could be 'Dangerous Static Water Area', by attaching the Cable to the Wooden Base , one end of the cable having the three bare wires joined together, to facilitate accumulated Discharge if necessary. Worth Thinking About ?

23 May 05. Having tested the "Gosunder the Bed Cable" for the last three weeks, the Cable has now proved most reliable in 'eliminating' the ever present Throughflow Sub-soil Electro Magnetic Force Influence : which has now proved to be a "Simple Solution to a Complex Problem".
"
Three months later" in our Quairading House; the Outer Edge of the main Electro Magnetic Force, radiating from the Subsurface Through-flow stream, has retreated 4 Metres away from the Copper Wires located under the Bed; this has now created a Large 'Neutral' Resting Area. Good or Bad I have yet to define; but in general there is a noticeable improvement in our Health, now that the 'E.M.F. Influence' and the Magnetic Blanket, have been controlled in our Resting Area.

"The E.M.F. radiating from the Subsurface Water flow Channel 'called the Throughflow' is caused by the 'Friction of Water' passing over the 'Protons and Neutrons' in the Soil which have an indiscriminate direction of 'Spin'. This causes the North, South orientated 'Protons and Neutrons' to alter their Direction of 'Spin' causing an Electro Magnetic Force to concentrate when they are nearly all re-aligned to a North-South Orientation, resulting in a general Build up of this 'Electro Magnetic Force' in the Water Channel This E.M.F. is easily picked up by the 'Special Rare Earth Magnetic Divining Rod' to define the problems associated with the Earths Electro Magnetic Forces"

Book Review:

Mutant Message Down Under

I recently came across reference to this book, that has been hanging around for some 15 years now - and there's a bad old smell! As many people still seem to think that the book is a TRUE account of anthropological fact, (even though, to me, it reads like real tripe) I felt compelled to re-interate the real truth.

Originally self-published in 1991 as a work of non-fiction by Marlo Morgan in the USA, it purported to be a story of her travels across Australia with an Aboriginal tribe called the Real People. It sold over 350,000 copies. Although previously rejected by all publishers, it's success caused them to have second thoughts. Rupert Murdoch's company Harper Collins outbid all offers and rights to the book earned her a cool $1.7million. Yes, folks, sadly - deception does pay.

Confronted by doubts over factual authenticity and after tearful public apologies by Morgan on tv and radio, Harper Collns had little choice but to then present the book as a work of fiction. The bubble had finally burst when a delegation of eight Aboriginal people travelled to the USA to debunk the untruths. They also sent a strong message to United Artists, who had plans to make a film of the book, that there would be mass protests if they ever tried to.

A spokeman for the Aboriginal delegation, Mr Robert Eggington, said he was appalled at the cultural appropriation exhibited by both Ms Morgan and the new age movement in Hollywood. "It was absolutely soul destroying" he said "It was truly devastating and amounts to nothing less than cultural genocide of the spirit."

So - the message from Down Under is loud and clear - DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!

(If you happen to have a copy on your bookshelf - turn it into mulch or worm food!)

Book Review:

Twenty Thirst Century

Reviewed by Alanna Moore

John Archer's latest book on water is his sixth on the subject. The depressing scenario presented is meant to wake people up to the fact that we are in the worst drought in one hundred years and there's nothing to indicate that things will improve. In the book Archer explains "why the big package solutions - desalination, recycling and groundwater - may not be as effective as we have been led to believe."

So this book is a must-read!

There is important food for thought for anyone out there who is water divining. We must not abuse groundwater. We need to consider the environmental impacts and sustainability of groundwater extraction.

Did you know that 'Mt Franklin Water' (- yes, it's named after Victoria's iconic Mt Franklin) is currently being greedily extracted by Coca-Cola Amatilall at Mt Tamborine, Queensland. They have just about sucked the bores dry and the locals are furious.! They want to the do the same thing at Peats Ridge, but Gosford Council is trying to stop them....

(As a balance to the alarming scenario in Archer's book, see the News about Water item, elsewhere in this issue of Geomantica.)

I heard John Archer talking about water at Gosford's Coast Fest, back in October. It was lovely to hear of his research into the more magical qualities of water and he told the crowd about how he has written a 400 page book on the sacred aspects, with water goddesses and the like featured. Unfortunately his publisher was not interested. (Come on other publishers!)

You can get a taste of his writings at www.johnarcher.com.au, where the book 'Australia's Drinking Water - the Coming Crisis' is available as a download.

Film Review:

'Time After Time'

Time after Time is a masterpiece! It has been described as a 'cinematic poem', where beautiful images dazzle and dissolve into each other, with a rich layering effect, and the voice of Mairead Sullivan provides ethereal accompaniment.

This is an atmospheric film which aims to instill a sense of the magic and marvel of nature, with insights to the devic dimensions, as well as highlighting Celtic and indigenous cultures.

Participants at the upcoming conference on Climate Change in Montreal will soon be enjoying Time after Time when it is shown there (late November 2005) and I encourage readers to get their own copy direct from the musician/filmmakers Mairead and her partner Ben Kettlewell (see website address at end).

Who better to interview Mairead about Time after Time than Rachel Kohn of ABC Radio National? I have extracted the following from their radio interview of earlier this month

Rachael Kohn: Maireid Sullivan is one of Australia's Celtic treasures, a voice like a trilling bird, she's also a songwriter of rare talent, and now a film maker. Time After Time is an extended hymn to nature and indigenous traditions, across three continents. It's been selected for many international film festivals, and it's just been awarded Best Documentary Film at the International Panorama of Independent Film held in Athens....

Rachael Kohn: Well your film, Time After Time, certainly is an evocation and elegy, to nature, and to the Earth..

The first part of the film actually focuses on the Irish Celtic tradition, but then it moves into America with the Native Americans Australia is where you also focus on the third indigenous tradition, the Aboriginal people. So you have that continuity through the film.

Maireid Sullivan: Well I'm very aware of the wonderful reality that nowhere else on the planet do we have living links to ancient mythologies that the Aboriginal people still visualise in their dreaming, in their personal dreamings. Donny Woolagoodja, whose paintings are featured in our film, in the Australian section, he's from the Kimberley area. He talks about the Wandjina, those are the spirits of painted rocks in the Kimberley areas, and he's taken on the job of repainting those. He feels that the job of every generation is to maintain the link with the ancient cultures. And he says that they have to be looked at, and the spirit is in them, he even says that if white people had a Wandjina, I love this quote from him, that "they should look at it, because the spirit is in there".

Rachael Kohn: Well it's interesting too that the Aboriginal elder who is quoted in the film (Bobby Bunnungurr) says 'Two people living together black and white, we are one red blood'. How important is that message for you, that mixing up of peoples?

Maireid Sullivan: Well, bringing us right back to your original question - how do we see ourselves in the universe? Our borders, and our nationalities mean nothing to us. We are humanity, all of us, and it's a miracle that we are able to understand each other, from ancient cultures that are so diverse, we meet in a multicultural context and we have the same human heart, and we have the same red blood and we have the same everything, except the colour of our skin which is so superficial. And we should just get on with the joy, the joy that is our inheritance.

You know, the ancient Irish I actually had a major epiphany in Ireland, and one of the reasons why I go back and forth through all these cultures is because that's how it is in my mind. I put my forehead to a rock in the great stone circle of Grange up in Limerick, just near the Tipperary border, and I had a major epiphany. When I saw and this is in the daytime when we were filming there I saw a night-time scene of people in front of me, and on my right shoulder facing me but looking up at the moonlight, was a face, I don't know whether it was a man or woman, but I could read their mind psychically. And this person was saying that he would passionately love to see the day when human beings would embrace their heritage of joy. So even the rocks speak.

Rachael Kohn: Well that's exactly what you manage to do in Time After Time, you've woven together three very different indigenous traditions from three different continents and yet they sort of all melt in together, they all speak to each other. There's a consciousness that is shared.

Rachael Kohn: Well the Irish have some great songs. You sing 'The Great Silkie of Sule Skerry', a song that I used to sing since my childhood. It's full of mythical allusions.

Maireid Sullivan: What about that line, when she tells the silkie off for begetting a child by her, when she says "It was na weel indeed" quo' she,
"that the Great Silkie of Sule Skerry should come and aught a bairn to me" "ought" means "without meaning". Isn't that fascinating?

Rachael Kohn: Yes, because the silkie is a seal, he comes up from the deep, and when he's on land he becomes a man.

Maireid Sullivan: A shapeshifter.

Rachael Kohn: A shapeshifter?

Maireid Sullivan: Yes, definitely he's referring to that view that people had in the Western Islands, that the animals, well the animals have life. I mean, that's actually quite an interesting thing to talk about you know, because you look around at any animal today and if you look at it long enough and care for it enough, you see it has a being, and so of course those people who lived with those seals and sea creatures, they looked out to the West and there was the land Tir Na nOg, of eternal life. And the spirits came and went, they were able to move through multiple dimensions. You know, through quantum physics, we're beginning to realise that idea of multiple dimensions, it's tangible.

Rachael Kohn: There's also I think a connection here in that all three Aboriginal traditions have a profound relationship to the natural world, to the animal world.

Maireid Sullivan: Well, yes. Anybody who works in a garden or who has been raised in the country knows how they're imbued with the spirit of the ground they work in. And they love it. Now that's the thing. You know, you look at the full moon, and you look at it long enough, you're just filled with love for it. And I think that love, that's where love grew, I think love grows out of our respect and wonder, and it's with our environment; it's with the land. And I think remembering that is a good thing, because we'll take care of that which we love.

Rachael Kohn: Do you hope your film will instil this reverence, or reconnect human beings to nature?

Maireid Sullivan: Yes, I do. I hope that it will make people feel that lovely softness, that big-hearted feeling of joy and thankfulness for the life we have, and the wonder and all the mysteries we're faced with daily.

Rachael Kohn: Well there's certainly some whimsy in the film, and in your life I suppose, with the Irish beliefs in fairies.

Maireid Sullivan: I wanted to show that multidimensional nature of nature, and I looked through all my libraries and I looked through friends' libraries, and one day, of course you'll find something in the last place you look. Right there on my bookshelf, was William Butler Yeats' Fairy Folk Tales of Ireland, first published in 1892. And it was the introduction to the chapter on the Trooping Fairies.

I read it, and it was just 'Oh my God, he's said it perfectly'. Yeats, the Magus of the 20th century, according to many people, described perfectly the relationship between nature and humanity and the possible he describes how our lineage, the ancient Irish lineage has been transformed into fairy stories, when in actual fact they are the gods, the pantheon of gods and the ancestors of the Celtic and Irish people, all the Celtic people of the Western European area. They've now become diminutive, and little fairies a few spans high, you know.

Rachael Kohn: Well I must say I learned a lot about fairies in the film.

Maireid Sullivan: That's good.

Rachael Kohn: Now your film ends as it began, in the heavens, with some of the most beautiful shots of the Milky Way and the Nebulae, the Moon the stars, the words of the song that you sing at the end reminded me a bit of the Song of Solomon, which is read as a love poem to another human being, as well as to God.

Introduction to the Ancient Science of Homa Therapy
DVD film approx 20 minutes.

The Homa Therapy Association has recently produced a short documentary on Homa farming/ Agnihotra practice and therapy, filmed at the beautiful location of Om Shree Dham, Hunter Valley NSW, the teaching centre for Homa Therapy in Australia.

Homa Therapy involves making daily sacred fires in an inverted copper pyramid, together with chanting, at sunrise and/or sunset (plus at other time). The ceremony is very powerful and helps to harmonise atmospheric problems, while the resulting ash from the fire is also very therapeutic.

The film is most informative and is packed with practical tips on Agnihotra techniques, from how to use the Agnihotra ash as a paste, spray or broadcast on soil; how to collect and dry cow dung for burning in the sacred fires; as well as many other aspects of Homa farming; plus testamonials from people who have had great experiences in their own life from applying Homa Therapy.

It is available now for $22.50 incl. postage & handling within Australia.

Proceeds of this DVD support the work of Homa Therapy here in Australia.
